I am originally from Baldwin, Long Island. Although my background is in marketing and advertising I have found greater satisfaction (in what started out as a hobby back in 1987) in buying homes, making renovations, leasing them, and helping others do the same. Wet behind the ears, I had bought my first fixer upper on Longboat Key back in 1987 for $70K while managing a condominium on Siesta Key. This gave me hands on knowledge about rentals, home repairs, and the real estate market. I have followed it closely ever since and have always loved to share my knowledge with others. One day my realtor wife said "I'm getting very busy and need some help and with everything you know you would make a great agent" I said "I'm not a salesman" and she said "people don't want to be sold, they want someone who knows the area, can answer all their questions, and negotiate on their behalf. It's the same thing you are doing now for yourself." I said, Ill give it a shot" 9 years later I have accomplished being able to earn a living doing what I love to do best and still have time for my family and friends. It's Great!
